Publishers are investing more in mobile advertising, but industry has still some way to go in overcoming pain points

81%of UK publishers are planning to invest more in mobile advertising over the coming 12 months.That’s according to new findings from AOL which surveyed over 600 mobile publishers on the issue. The research found that publishers were planning to sell 53% of their inventory programmatically and just 47% directly.

Pokmon GO is something of a cultural phenomenon. Since its launch last month, Nintendos free mobile game for iOS and Android devices has, according to SurveyMonkey, become the most successful mobile app in history. In addition to surpassing Tinder, its user-base supersedes Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and others on Google Playstore rankingseven with crashing servers, questionable security and unwanted updates.

In what appears to be a constant back and forth between publishers and ad blocking companies, AdBlock Plus has made the next move. Just a few days ago Facebook announced that they are taking steps to prevent ad blockers from blocking ads on their desktop version of the site. The move made ads get published in a way that is more similar to normal content, which would not get flagged by the ad blockers.
